Now place the globe animation into video track 2 ("Video Overlay"):

At next select the globe animation in the timeline, click on Video FX (1.) and choose the "Black and White" effect (2.) from the list. Select the "100% Black and White" preset (3.) and drag it to the globe loop (4.):

Your preview-monitor should show something like this:

Step 6
Now select "Mask Generator" from the Video FX menu (1.), choose "Luminance Mask" preset and drag it to the loop (3.):

Add some text or graphics and your preview-monitor should show something like this:

That's all! Play around with different background loops and settings of the generated media clip in the video track to get different looks.
